Can I whine for just a minute?
My 3 month-old dishwasher has been broken for 2 days, and I miss it already! Waaaaaahhh!
I don’t want to hear from you martyrs who have 10 kids and have never had a dishwasher. I’m spoiled and I know it!
Waaaaahhhh!

I have the wonderful privilege of leading worship tonight and Saturday for a women’s retreat. The theme is “Chocolate Boutique: where women taste and see that the Lord is good.” It compares the extravagance of chocolate with that of God’s love and grace. I’m not sure what all is in store for us, because I’ve only seen the worship planning portion, but it sounds like fun! (I’m sure eating lots of chocolate is on the agenda) When I get back, I will be entering chocolate rehab, I’m sure.
Would you please pray for the ladies at the retreat? Here are some things to pray about if you would like to:
I know that there will be women there to whom God wants to bring deep healing, and I pray every hindrance to that healing will be gone.
In the mean time, why not visit a blog I recently discovered, Jesus and Dark Chocolate. Why? because the title has the words Jesus and Chocolate in it, of course! And she has some wonderful inspirations, as well as a sweet heart for the Lord. She’s also has a great sense of humor, too.

I’m always torn on the anniversary of the September 11th attack on our country. I don’t want to give the Islamic Terrorists one ounce of acknowledgment that will cause them to celebrate what they did to us.
On the other hand, we MUST remember that we are in a war we did not start, and one we cannot stop by simply removing our presence from a particular country. I am speaking of the war AlQaeda and other groups are waging on us, whether we fight back or not. Even though the majority of Muslims do not support terrorism, there is a significant number who do. There are millions of people who want to kill anyone who does not conform to their religious view. Unless we become a Muslim country with sharia law, the extremists will not be satisfied. I don’t know what exactly to do about it, but I do know one thing:
This is NOT a political game.
It’s not about who will be elected President. Whether you support the current President or not – whether you support the Iraq war or not – please pray for unity in America, that we will all be on the same team, and that it will not take another terrorist attack to accomplish it.
Please do not become complacent. The enemy is not resting. You may want to do a little research on The Perfect Day, the blueprints of American schools found in possession of a terrorist in Iraq, and Al Queda training tapes found outlining independent, simultaneous civilian attacks. Then pray for the protection of the innocent.
Pouring yourself out,
only to be magnificently refilled.

Well, we’re off to bring my 4year-old to get her tonsils out. I am very nervous, not really about the procedure, but the aftermath. If you would, please pray for Princess’s safety during the surgery, and recovery here at home. If we can keep her from getting dehydrated, we should be OK.
Do you have any tips or suggestions?
I may not post for a few days, so if you want, take a look at the archives or these previous posts:
I might as well be going to the State Fair this week! I just love reading other peoples’ posts, and getting feedback on mine!
The Carnival of Family Life is over at Why Homeschool this week. There are some awesome articles, including my Mom Profile: The Don’t Stay at Home Mom.
Edited to Add: I just realized how conceited that sounded! Not that my article is particularly awesome, it’s just that…it’s there. Sorry! [removes foot from mouth]

Real Life
My blog is called Real Life for 2 main reasons: 1. I have found “real life” in Jesus Christ. Well, actually, He found me. I want to share the joy and hope I have in Him! (Psalm 40:1-3) 2. Life is not perfect, and neither am I. You won’t find many stories about how my house is perfectly decorated and cleaned, my children are dressed to the tee and behaving like angels, and I have a four course meal ready for my husband when he gets home from work; and you can, too, if you just do what I do! I want to get real and talk about all the issues we know we deal with! And add in some meaningless silliness while I’m at it, to help me get through the day! Leave a comment if you stop by!

…to the big time.” I will be taking a Internet break for a few days, while we move into our new house. It has been quite an experience these last few weeks, so if you get a chance, please say a prayer for me and the family. We may be living in the house for a few days without power, so it should be interesting. See you soon!
