Readers of the Week, the Smiling Edition

Welcome to the “smiling edition” of Readers of the Week! Everyone who comes by here makes me smile. (And believe me, I count every one of you) When you comment, it makes me smile even more, and sometimes laugh hysterically.

Lynnae, at From Under the Clutter has given me this very encouraging and slightly annoyingly-colored award! (It’s not her design, BTW, she would have picked a very nice color scheme, I’m sure) I have come to just love Lynnae, and she makes me smile all the time!

So I will be passing this on to my ROTW.

Melanie (Chili-Head) from Don’t Try this at Home is the top referrer this week. A lot of people came over from the Children’s Chore Carnival she had. I’m not sure she has time to read my little-ol’ blog too much, but she sure does make me smile.

I’ve just recently come across the Moms for Modesty, hosted by Jules from Every Day Mommy. I just love this idea, and it makes me smile to know that there are so many other moms (1456, to be exact) who are joining together to reject the over-se*xua*lization of our children.

Morning Song (Melodye) was the only one of you who had the guts to disagree with me on this post! Wouldn’t you know, she made me think and I actually ended up agreeing with her. Jen also wrote a great comment, but I think she was actually agreeing with me.

The last (but not least) reader of the week is Mama Zen, from The Zen of Motherhood. She’s already gotten the smiley award, but I have to include her, especially because of this post, highlighting the fashion trends of Pre-K dropoff. I laughed really hard, because I usually sport my pajamas (+ bra, of course). You can tell the stay-at-home moms because they are all usually in the “Pajama Club”. There are those rare days when I have to be somewhere early, and I’m actually put together. They ask me for ID, and ask my daughter, “Oh, did your aunt bring you to school today?”

See you Monday, when the Mothers and Daughters Blog Carnival will be posted at From Under the Clutter

PS. If you’ve already gotten the award, don’t worry about posting about it again, I just wanted to let you know that you make me smile!

Readers of the Week.

I took a week off from ROTW last Saturday, because I had a tonsillectomy patient, and still do. It’s amazing how long it take for the recovery!

We’ll begin with first time commenter and new visitor, Emily, from Laundry and Lullabies. She was a choral director before having babies, just like me! We certainly have a lot in common, because sometimes I feel as though all I do is laundry and lullabies! PS You MUST go see the horrific-looking creature that is pictured on her site. (It’s actually so ugly, it’s kind of cute)

The top referrer this week is actually the second highest referrals. The first is Rocks in my Dryer, from Works-For-Me-Wednesday. So many people participate each week, if I count that, no one else will ever get in! There were 372 visitors from that post! Everyone should join in, it is so fun!

So the next top referrer is Everyday Mommy, a blog I have recently discovered. I made her recipe for pot roast this week, and it was great!

This week, I also want to recognize an email subscriber~ my college roomate, Laci!! She lives far away now, and I’m so glad we’re keeping in touch again. OK, Laci, when are you starting your blog?

I’ve been reflecting on “unwrapping emotions, not food,” and I can’t wait to share it and see what you think!

Readers of the Week

It’s time for another edition of ROTW!

  • Commenter of the week is Classic Mama from…well..Classic Mama’s Thoughts. She left a touching comment on my post, She Chose Life, and used my favorite word to describe works of God- Restoration
  • Top Referrer was Rocks in My Dryer, written by Shannon. I’m sure the readers who came were looking for my review of High School Musical 2, since I referenced it in a comment. Sadly, I had to delete it for security reasons. I am very sorry for the dead link, but thanks for coming by!
  • Another top referrer was Michelle from In the Life of a Child. Michelle also entered the first ever Mothers and Daughters Blog Carnival, and I am so excited about this event.
  • Last but not least, my sweet new blog friend, Melody at Slurping Life, who never ceases to encourage me with thoughtful comments here and insightful posts at her blog. She sent several women over here for the Carnival as well. Before I started blogging, if you had told me I could care so much about a woman I had never met, I wouldn’t have believed you.

Readers of the Week

It time for another addition of the Readers of the Week. I really can’t believe the fact that people actually read my stuff, and I’m thrilled. So I’m giving back to you with links and a little recognition. I love everyone who interacts with me, but I have to just highlight a few.

  • Rodney (aka Kim’s Hotrod) at A Paradoxical Paradise is an old long-time friend of my husband and me. He began blogging shortly after I did, and besides having one of the best titles I’ve seen, he is a really great person! Rodney tops the chart in reader referrals this week. So, either lots of people clicked my link on his page, or he came over and read a lot. Either way, he wins!
  • Tied for most referrals is ProBlogger.net. I would be lying if I said the author Darren was actually a reader, but he did visit my blog once! I entered this post in a group writing project, called “31 days to a building a better blog,” in the reader tips. His site is a MUST for bloggers, and that is why he has 29,894 subscribers, including me!
  • Commentor of the week is first time commentor Deb from What’s the Magic Word? She is really funny, and it looks like she’s been blogging for about 2 months now, so we should all pay her a visit.
  • Last, but not least, my SIL Katie, from Katharin Crouch Photography, who took the picture of my dog Nigel, and his brother Julian. She is a very talented photographer.

If I don’t stop now, I’ll run out of readers by next week. Have a great weekend!

Readers of the Week!

I have been thinking lately about how much I love my readers and commentors. You all make it really fun to write, and I wanted to give back a little. So most weekends, I’m going to try to write a “readers of the week” post. If you don’t make it on the list, it doesn’t mean I don’t love you! I’m going to try to highlight just a few different people each time. Take some time this weekend to visit them and encourage them.

Here they are for this week:

  • Rebekah at The Day of a Mom. She saw the Man of the Year post on a friend’s blog, and came over to join herself. Her husband (and her) survived testicular cancer, made $800 from a garage sale, and what are they going to do next? Disney World, of course!
  • Kevin, from Daily Thoughts on the Bible was the top referrer from a reader this week, not to mention being an old friend of my husband’s. Thanks, Cubby (his nickname). Sometime, you’ll have to write about how you got that name. If you’ve never been to his blog, he’s got some great perspectives on the Word, as well as family life. (Cubby, I just realized I don’t have your blog on my side bar. Adding it now.)
  • Finally, all the girls who participated in the Man of the Year. I’ll throw an extra link their way! I’m so new at hosting original ideas, but it seems so fun, I just had to try it. Thanks for joining in my first one. Lynnae from Under the Clutter, Kim from Only One, Elizabeth from The Whole Family, The Bitter Queen from The Bitter Ball, Christina from Bye Baby Bunting, and of course, Rebekah from The Day of a Mom
